I did it again today. I watched "Extreme Couponing". I don't think I've watched an episode of this series since it aired and NOT ended up at the grocery store that same day. :-P And although I swore I wasn't going today, I of course was inspired to look over some of this week's deals (again!) while watching. And when I did, I realized I had some coupons that expired today. And being that they were able to be stacked on top of store deals, I couldn't let them go to waste ;-)
So I spent about 20 minutes prepping and off we went. Here's what I got:
Kroger is having a deal where if you bring in or transfer a new prescription, you get a $25 gift card. Well, I just so happened to have a prescription I needed filled this week anyway. So I brought it in, made sure I'd get the GC, and went shopping.
They're ALSO having a 10/$10 deal this week. If I had to bet, I'd say you probably don't have to have 10 of the items to actually get them for $1. But with so many coupons and things, I wasn't going to take chances. So I went ahead and made sure I got ten :) I got:
* 2 Del Monte fruit cups $1 each ($2 total) These were SUPPOSED to be 2 tubes of toothpaste for which I had coupons, but Kroger was out of both :(
* 1 Softsoap. I had a .35 coupon that Kroger tripled, so I actually MADE .05 off this purchase! :D :D :D
* 4 packs of cinnamon rolls ($1 each and I had ecoupon for .40 off two)... total price: 1.60 (NOTE: KROGER DOES NOT DOUBLE E-COUPONS. I'M NOT SURE WHY,BUT THEY DON'T)
* 2 packs of Pillsbury biscuits: $2 minus the .40 cent coupon I had. Total price: 1.10
* Tampax pearl tampons (only b/c I noticed they were on sale and I had a $2 coupon :D) price: 2.36
* Cat food
* Dog food
* Chicken breasts
* Yogurts
* 2 1/2 gallons of Orange Juice
* 20 lbs of cat litter
* and lunch meat
Total amount spent: 8.02
Total savings: 42.20
Now that's what I call a wild Saturday night! LOL
