Lining Up Our Ducks In a Row....

As I type this, I am making awesome sticky pork chops with a side of mashed potatoes and cheesy broccoli. Why is this such a big deal? Because I cannot remember the last time I made dinner on a Monday night. Because I worked full-time this summer teaching, I have been too exhausted to cook or do much of anything by the time we get home. It's been boxed dinners and take out for nearly 4 months now.
On Friday, however, I ended my full-tme job and started preparing for going back to the wonderful world of school. So there are lots of transitions and changes going on in our home, and that means we've got to switch gears if we're going to keep on chasing our American Dream.
We're budgetting. I'm going back to being self-employed full-time. And we're learning about the Dave Ramsey plan. I'll have a garage sale this Friday, which is not part of the overall plan but more of a necessity because our house is just busting at the seams! lol! :) But hopefully it will give us a little bit more cushion in savings.
We went and talked again with a mortgage consultant on Monday and found out that Jeremy's credit has gone way up and we'll be approved for a great rate! So that's awesome! We're still looking to buy by the first of the year. And until then, we're lining up all our ducks in a row. Let's just hope none of our ducks jump off into the pond.
